Fermenting Vegetables Workshop

Fermenting Vegetables: Kim Chi, Sauerkraut Varieties, Cultured Vegetables and Probiotic Dips

Use all your senses to learn with live demonstrations and taste tests. Ask questions, find out how to safely ferment at home, what to expect and tips for troubleshooting. Plus this class includes the opportunity to make your own jars of ferments in class to take home with you.

 

What you will learn:

  • Wild vs Cultured ferments
  • Kim Chi
  • Sauerkraut varieties
  • Cultured vegetables using Kultured Wellness starter culture*
  • Probiotic dips

*Kultured Wellness Starters will be available to purchase and take home with you from the workshop.

Option to make your own fermented vegetables in class to take home with you.

After learning and tasting all the demonstrations, there will be time allocated during the class to making your own.

Time to make e.g. either a large Kim Chi or Saurekraut, or 2 jars of cultured vegetables.

If you don’t wish to make in class, you will still learn from watching and discussions. Or you may wish to make a jar together with a friend.

 

To make your own in class please bring: Own glass Jars, equipment (e.g. chopping board, knife, grater, bowl) plus the vegetables you wish to ferment.  A detailed list of recommended and suggested items and ingredients to bring will be provided a few weeks out from the workshop so you can get organised. For your convenience we can bring pre-ordered jars and organic ingredients for you for a modest fee.

Salt and/or starters for your take home ferments (for up to 2 jars) will be provided on the day, complimentary.

Are tickets transferable?

Yes, tickets are transferable but not refundable. Up until 7 days prior (or up to 3 days prior if we have a waiting list) you may choose to transfer your ticket to another future workshop. After this time if you can no longer make the workshop you may transfer or sell your ticket to another person, just please let us know the new contact name.
